One profile runs the whole school. Create it once, and the Traffic Violation Finder and the Court Delivery Agent read it automatically β your violation is looked up from your citation details, and when you pass, your completion is delivered to your court without you re-typing anything. California law requires the school to collect this information before instruction, and to verify that the person taking the course is the person named on the citation.
California regulations (Title 13, Β§345.30(f)(2)) require these notices and statements to appear at the start of every internet traffic violator course.

This course is not intended as training from a licensed driving school. It does not meet the standards, training, or requirements in preparation for being issued a driver license. This course has been reviewed and approved to meet the requirements for the traffic violator school program. Completion documentation will not be issued to those not meeting the traffic violator school program criteria.
Pursuant to Vehicle Code section 1808.7, the following situations are not eligible for masking a traffic safety violation on a California driver record:
What this site will ask for: your California driver license or California identification number, or, if you do not have one, your birthdate, the court reference number (docket, ticket or citation number) and the name of the court with jurisdiction or the court code. These are requirements for receiving a completion receipt and to have the information sent to the court of jurisdiction should you successfully pass this course. If you are unable to provide the required information, your participation shall not be credited toward satisfying the requirement.
Office hours: MondayβFriday, 9 a.m.β5 p.m. Pacific. A licensed instructor is available during office hours to answer course questions, and answers after-hours questions on the next business day. Fully Automated Traffic School β DMV traffic violator school license number: application submitted β the license number will appear here and on every course screen once issued.
Tell this agent about your ticket once β or just create your profile above and it reads everything automatically. It checks your citation against the Β§1808.7 eligibility rules and tells you, in plain English, whether traffic school can mask your point and what to do next.
A California speeding conviction normally adds a point to your driving record β whoever you insure with. Insurers set their own rates and can factor the violations and points that show on your record into what you pay at renewal. If the court allows traffic school and accepts your completion, the conviction is masked so the point does not appear on the public record insurers typically see. Masking is the court's decision and is never guaranteed β but an unmasked point is a real premium risk, and that's the risk this course exists to remove.
One point for most speeding convictions; more serious or repeat violations add more. Points can also count toward a negligent-operator suspension (e.g. 4 points in 12 months). An insurer reviewing your record can price that risk in β amounts vary by insurer and driver, and no honest school can quote you a figure.
When a court grants traffic school and you finish by the deadline, the school reports completion electronically and the conviction is masked from the public driving record. The ticket, fine, and court fees don't disappear β masking is about the point, not the penalty.
Same answer. Tesla Insurance, like other California insurers, prices policies using its own rating factors, which can include driving history where permitted. And if FSD was driving when you were stopped: the ticket is still yours β the driver is always legally responsible. We won't invent a surcharge number β none is published. The safe assumption: keep the point off the record you present to any insurer.
General information, not insurance or legal advice. Eligibility for traffic school (e.g. no traffic school in the prior 18 months, non-commercial license for most cases) is set by your court β check your courtesy notice or court portal.
Eight full units covering everything California drivers are tested on: the rules and signs, sharing the road, speed and weather, your car and its tires, impairment and distraction, intersections and freeways, emergencies, and defensive driving. Nothing extra, nothing missing. Read a unit, learn its highlighted must-know facts, pass its 3-question check, and move on. Every final-exam answer is taught in these pages β usually in the highlighted box, always in the lesson above it. Every lesson, quiz question, and exam question comes with a short film of the situation and a plain-English walkthrough: what is happening, why it matters, and what to watch for.
Six short films β a cyclist at dusk, rain on the freeway, a four-way stop, a school zone, a freeway merge, and a work zone β each stopping at the moment you have to decide. Every film comes with a plain-English explanation of what is happening and why. Pick what you would do and watch what happens. Below them, four more quick decisions, including two for Tesla drivers and a tire blowout every driver should rehearse.
Teaches and quizzes β it never takes the course or exam for you, per DMV identity rules.
Seeing the situation makes the rule stick. The same situations come back in the final β pictured, not just described.
Simple promise: if you finished the units, you have already seen every answer. The final has 25 questions and you need 18 correct to pass. Every question comes with a short film of the situation. Watch what is happening, read the plain-English walkthrough under the film, then answer β afterwards you get the full reasoning, step by step: what the film showed, the rule behind it, and why the right answer is right. Miss one and you see that explanation right away. Stuck? Tap βReview this lessonβ to jump back to the exact lesson β then come back and finish. If you do not pass the first time, you get a second try with different questions.
California requires every traffic violator student to be offered the DMV course evaluation (form OL 767) as a completion requirement β your completion cannot be reported to your court without it. Your answers go to the DMV quarterly and are never altered or held back. Prefer not to answer? You can satisfy the requirement by printing your name instead, exactly as the regulation allows.
In the licensed version, completion is reported electronically to your court and you keep this certificate. Personalise the preview β try it after passing the exam above.
Pass the final exam to unlock your score on this certificate.
